Readers, you may wonder if another roofing situation popped up this quarter, given how many we did throughout 2024, but alas, we had none for the first time this year! In fact, it was a rather slow quarter. This tends to happen as we move to colder weather and the holidays. Most of what we accomplished in this quarter was in October.

In summary, we helped the Ridge Community Church with their fall festival, replaced a kitchen floor, did garbage removal, and built a small deck all at the end of the month.

In addition to those, our other project was towards the beginning of December. This project really stuck with us in 2024. We delivered firewood to a family with teenagers. What we thought was a simple service surprised us all once we arrived at their home. Upon delivery, we learned that their mother was in jail. So here we all were, in the middle of the holiday season, doing what seemed like a nice, simple act to help a family keep their home warm. When we learned of their circumstance, we were quickly reminded that not everyone gets to enjoy the holidays, and its easy to take for granted the families that God has blessed us with.

This brings to mind the reason for the season. Jesus was born 2,000 years ago to save His people from their sins, regardless of their status, ethnicity, or heritage. It is wonderful for us to bask in this reality as believers for sure but... do we take this message during this cheerful season to those that don't know the message? Do we just surround ourselves with joy and pleasure with none left to share for those outside our circles? Jesus didn't do that.

I would pose a challenge to anyone reading this in 2025: How can you open up your circle to the less fortunate, especially during the holidays. Maybe it's having an open invitation to those with no family during Thanksgiving. Perhaps you buy an extra gift or two at Christmas and present them to someone who is hurting. Consider how you can serve the kingdom, where it causes you to let others into your circle of joy. Service projects are one way we do this as believers, but there are many other ways!

Thank you to those that support us. Between the projects themselves and your kindness to us, we have been humbled and blessed to serve. If what you've read has stirred your heart at all, consider how you may support our efforts in 2025. Maybe we will even see you out there with us building a deck or picking up some trash. Have a blessed New Year!
